Hi everyone, including new subscribers 👋
Here’s what you can expect today.
Something new!
An explanation
A path forward?
Let’s get started.
A Bible tracker instead of a Bible plan
I’ve become a fan of tracking my Bible reading rather than following a strict plan as a way to increase positive motivation rather than shame from falling behind. I made and shared a template for Obsidian a while ago but here’s a video and download link below.
Where have you been?
I planned a short break when my son was born but I didn’t plan for all the changes at the time.
My son was in hospital for most of the first month of his life (he’s fine now thanks be to God).
I was promoted leading to me having more work
It’s harder to record a video with a crying baby in the house
And then throw in some distractions with other projects and over six months can fly by.
It’s been a tough time, but it’s been a time of growth and I’m excited about the future. Which brings me to…
So What’s next?
I’m keen to share more bible knowledge management tips and tools as well as from my journey through Bible college, however I don’t know exactly how it will look.
Certainly I’ll share more videos and I’m keen to share more articles too, but where and on what exactly are my biggest questions. In particular, I have been humming and hawing over whether to stick with Substack, move to revue or do something else entirely. I’ve also wondered how useful a roundup style newsletter is verse some other style (like this?)
If you have some thoughts, opinions, critiques, encouragement? I’d love to hear them.
Till next time.
God bless.
Was really happy to see you in my inbox today, brother! Glad to hear your little one is doing well now.
A word of encouragement: keep going! Your content is so needed. I know it's a new season of life, and maybe that means your output won't be the same as it was before. But I'd just encourage you to figure out a low bar, something sustainable that you can commit to doing regularly and that doesn't overwhelm you, and just do that until things level out. Maybe it's just the newsletter for a while and not many YouTube videos.
Comment on the newsletter format, I do a roundup style newsletter and it takes very little time these days because it's just curating stuff I'm reading already. But it gets a ton of engagement. Might be a good option to try out for yourself.
Thanks for what you do!
